The Nigeria Football Federation has showered praises on the French Embassy in the country after the Super Eagles, coaches and backroom staffs were issued entry visas into France on Tuesday.

It was widely reported earlier this week that they were concerns over the team’s departure due to entry visas not granted to some members of the team including assistant coaches, Imama Amapakabo and Kennerdy Boboye.

Interim head coach, Salisu Yusuf, goalkeepers’ trainer Alloy Agu and the team doctor, were the only members of the backroom staff to have gotten their visas.

However, the embassy has now granted visas to all players, coaches and backroom staff and and they departed the country through the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja on Tuesday night.

Midfielder Ogenyi Onazi was at the head of eight other players who traveled out with the assistant coaches and other backroom staff from Abuja. Others are goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa, defenders Elderson Echiejile, Musa Muhammed, Abdullahi Shehu and Kingsley Madu, midfielder Etebo Oghenekaro and forwards Aminu Umar and Brown Ideye.

Other foreign players, Carl Ikeme, Daniel Akpeyi , Kenneth Omeruo, Gbenga Arokoyo, Leon Balogun, Wilfred Ndidi, Raheem Lawal, forwards Kelechi Iheanacho, Moses Simon, Odion Ighalo and Alex Iwobi are also expected in camp by Wednesday morning.

The Super Eagles take on Mali at the Stade Robert Diochon in Rouen on Friday May 27, before traveling to Luxembourg City on Saturday, ahead of the game with Luxembourg at the Josy Barthel Stadium on Tuesday May 31.
