A convicted rapist wanted in Mexico in connection with a killing 11 years ago was deported Friday from El Paso, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials said.

ICE agents handed Jesus Andrade Sanchez to Mexican authorities at the border at the middle of the Stanton Bridge, officials said.

Andrade, 33, is accused in the homicide of Juan Carlos Castillo Andrade, 26, in the Mexican state of Michoacan in 2005, ICE officials said.

In October 2002, Andrade was first arrested in the U.S. after illegally crossing the border near El Paso, ICE said. In January 2005, he was arrested and deported again after crossing the border in Arizona. He later entered the U.S. again.

On Sept. 30, 2005, Andrade was convicted of rape in Kansas and was sentenced to 12 years in prison, ICE officials said. He was turned over to ICE for deportation after being released from a Kansas prison on June 23 of this year.
